How to start a blog?

First you have to decide the theme, and if you want your blog to be private or personal. Write about what interests you, not what you think your readers want (or you'll get bored with writing).

Then you should check out a few of the free blog sites, like Livejournal.com, Blogger.com, Blog-city.com, TheDiary.org or Blogdrive.com. They offer free accounts that come with a lot of features. Others like Typepad.com charge a nominal fee.

Or maybe you should register your own domain name, you can install WordPress, Movable Type, b2evolution or other blogging software.

Set up your blog. Most of the blogging services make this a very simple process. You will have to make some decisions about how you want your blog to look, you can pick a color scheme and layout, but this is something you can tweak later.

Write your first posts. This may be the most difficult part. If you don?t have a lot of experience, keep your posts short first. After you've wrote a few posts, make any adjustments to the layout or style that you see fit.

Most blogging software offer a way to create an RSS (or ATOM) feed. Make sure it's enabled and link to it prominantly on your site.

Keep the posts interesting, and write regularly. The more regularly you post something, the more your readership will grow.

Be patient with yourself, the more you do it, the better you get.
